September 1st- Read Flag banning editorials. Soapstone and a paragraph response for the editorial you agree most with. Write a thesis statement WNB: "Should the confederate flag be banned in public and governmental property? Why or why not?

September 2nd- How to incorporate evidence APA style. Write 2 body paragraphs using support.

September 3rd- Write down, in the correct format, 4 quotes from any of the articles we have read about the confederate flag that support their opinion. They need to explain how each quote supports their point of view. Students should then write down, in APA style, one quote that supports the opposing view point. They should write down their rebuttal to this quote.

Read They Live the Dream answer the following questions for each of the 6 people introduced in the essay. 

1. What did the American Dream look like to each person?

2. What obstacles did each person face?

3. How did each person gain access to the American dream?

4. Who/What do the people credit for their success?

5. Only answer this question after reading about all of the people: Which story did you most identify with? Why?
